The Canvas Collection

Where Backcountry Art Meets Everyday Comfort
The Canvas Collection is a limited-run celebration of local Canadian talent, rugged outdoor spirit, and premium, slow-fashion craftsmanship. This project began with a simple vision: to bring the raw, striking beauty of Ontario’s wilderness off the traditional gallery walls and right onto the trail ahead. We partnered with local landscape artist Denice Bustraen to turn heavy, pigment-dyed fabrics into stunning, wearable canvases—featuring limited-edition graphic art tees, cozy fleece blankets, and heavy canvas studio aprons hand-finished right here in Barrie, Ontario.

Welcome to a new era of grounded apparel built for creators, hikers, and women who set their own pace. We are trading harsh gym lights for natural sunlight, redefining strength through long trail miles and quiet mornings at the easel. 

The Canvas Collection is an ongoing series of limited-run, ultra-soft layers designed to bring breathtaking local landscape art off the gallery walls and out into the wild. 

Hand-finished right here in Barrie, Ontario, every piece is made to move effortlessly from the studio to the trail.

The Story Behind the Art

In July 2026 at an art retreat in Algonquin Park, Asskicker founder Julie ended up in a canoe paddling back from Provoking Falls with guest artist Denice Bustraen. Under the northern stars, a creative partnership was born—and Asskicker Outdoors came alive.

Meet Denice Bustraen

Denice is an independent painter and a member of the Moose Cree First Nation. Creativity runs deep in her soul. She beautifully captures the vibrant spirit and raw energy of Ontario's backcountry using bold colors, fluid graphic lines, and pure intuition.

The Canvas Collection

Denice painted four original pieces for this launch. We selected three of her striking landscapes to anchor our very first wearable art collection. Every piece is hand-finished right here in Ontario on ultra-soft, garment-dyed layers—bringing local fine art off the gallery walls and out onto the trail ahead.
